The potential of the sector has been promoted by the national government, with the transformation of institutional structures that encourage the creation of decent jobs and the wellbeing of the community, as well as the promotion of strategies to modernize coal mining, especially in departments that historically have presented high rates of informality in small coal mining, such as Cundinamarca.
