dc.description | Introducción: La lactancia materna asegura la adecuada nutrición durante las primeras etapas del desarrollo infantil y es de gran relevancia para la salud pública mundial dadas sus múltiples propiedades, a pesar de este reconocimiento pueden presentarse dificultades frecuentes que obstaculicen su curso normal incluso que produzcan su abandono. Objetivo: Identificar los retos de los grupos de apoyo en lactancia materna, sobre la prevención y manejo de los problemas mas frecuentes descritos en la literatura, a fin de establecer estrategias óptimas de promoción que puedan potenciar índices de lactancia materna como su duración y exclusividad. Metodología: Se revisó la literatura existente utilizando como palabras clave (DeCS) lactancia materna, lactancia, prevención & control, desordenes de lactancia; se escogieron 55 estudios escritos entre los últimos cinco años, en los que se identificaron las estrategias de prevención y control de los principales problemas asociados con la lactancia materna. Resultados: Se describió el impacto de la lactancia materna en la disminución de la tasa de morbimortalidad mundial a corto mediano y largo plazo; posteriormente se identificó que la protección promoción y apoyo de la lactancia materna está regida por 3 políticas públicas principales las cuales se denominan alimentación del lactante y el niño pequeño, hospitales amigos del niño y ley de comercialización de sucedáneos de la leche materna y en última instancia se describió la importancia de los grupos de apoyo en la transferencia de información y abordaje de los problemas frecuentes en la etapa de lactancia materna. Conclusiones: los resultados de la revisión ponen en manifiesto la importancia de llevar a cabo intervenciones de promoción a través de grupos de apoyo para mejorar las prácticas de lactancia materna con el fin de prevenir y solucionar posibles problemas que se pueden presentar durante esta etapa. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Breastfeeding ensures adequate nutrition during the early stages of child development. This practice has relevance to the global public health given its manifold properties. Despite its recognition, breastfeeding presents frequent difficulties that prevent the normal course leading even it to desert. Methodology: We reviewed the existent literature using as key words (MeSH): Breast Feeding, prevention and control, Lactation Disorders; We chose 55 studies wrote in the last five years, in which we identified the strategies for prevention and control of the main problems associated with breastfeeding. Results: The impact of breastfeeding on the reduction of the global morbidity and mortality rate in short and long term was described; Subsequently, we identified that protection promotion and support of breastfeeding is governed by three main public policies which are called infant and 3 toddler feeding, child-friendly hospitals, and breast milk substitute commercialization law. Finally, we described the importance of support groups in the transfer of information and the management of common problems in the breastfeeding stage. Conclusions: The results of the present review highlight the importance of carrying out advocacy interventions through support groups to improve breastfeeding practices in order to prevent and resolve possible problems that may arise during this stage. | eng |
