abstract = {Critical assessment of the 'received view' on the revival of American pragmatism. My claim is that this 'received view' is a narrative about the history of philosophy that can be used either to vindicate the continuity or to regret the lost of that tradition. To prove my thesis I articulate three arguments on the 'received view': i) it is insufficient to explain the revival of pragmatism, ii) it is a kind of narrative that makes plausible a particular image of philosophy, iii) it prevents us to notice how the canon formation meets the purposes of the movement’s followers.},
