abstract = {The focus of this monograph is the exercise of discursive construction around Human Rights (HR) occurring in the period from 1993 - 2001 on the occasion of the adoption of the Helms-Burton Act in the US. It is about considered the elements under which HR can be instrumentalized and politicized purposes claim that they can not match the essence that characterizes them. To do this, it is considered as a theoretical basis for methodological proposition of Critical Discourse Analysis; and hegemony, as a concept of moral, intellectual and political imposition, in accordance with the theoretical application developed by Antonio Gramsci.},
