There are several tests that measure proficiency or motor skills in children; however in Colombia does not exist any research that demonstrates the validity and reliability of a test that allows assessing children's motor skills, taking into account that the intervention should be based on rigorous assessment processes of body movement. Objective. This study’s objective was to determinate the psychometric properties of the short form from the Bruininks Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency –BOT 2- Second Edition. Materials and Methods. To get the results there was made an evaluating diagnostic tests in 24 apparently healthy children of both genders, with their ages between 4 and 7 years old, who lived in the cities of Chia and Bogota. The children were evaluated by three experts; the internal consistency analysis was performed using Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient; the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was applied for the reproducibility analysis; for analyzing concurrent validity the Pearson correlation coefficient was used, considering an α = 0.05. Results. There was found high reliability and validity ranges. Conclusions. The BOT 2 is a valid and reliable test; it can be used in our context for testing and identifying children’s motor skills development levels.}, organization = {ninguno}, keywords = {Psicometría, Reproducibilidad de resultados; Validez de las pruebas; Destreza motora; Actividad motora}, title = {Propiedades psicométricas del test de competencias motoras Bruininks Oseretsky en versión corta para niños entre 4 y 7 años en Chía y Bogotá – Colombia}, publisher = {Universidad del Rosario}, keywords = {Psychometrics; Reproducibility of results; Validity of tests; Motor skills, Motor activity}, }
