We found an increase in the coverage where the subsidized regime presented the greatest raise. Even so, it exists a large proportion that is not insured. There is an increase in the prevention for 2003 and a decrease in the demand for outpatient services because lack of money. The hospitalization rate and the respective expenditure also show a reduction. The analysis also illustrates a small improve in the self-reported health status. In general, affiliation, demand for health services and self-reported health status differ between regions, labor segment and income quintiles.}, booktitle = {Borradores de investigación.
