abstract = {The Colombian ports and their importance in the national logistic and economic system make it necessary to study their competitiveness and efficiency with regional parameters. This research, specifically seeks to measure the efficiency of the Barranquilla’s port in the items of technical and allocative efficiency, starting with a diagnosis of the port and its operation. Then, the concepts of technical and allocative efficiency, their respective differences and items for their calculation were developed, in order to use as a methodology the benchmarking between the port and some ports of the region, with the objective of analyzing the standards of the most efficient ports in the region and analyze how the Barranquilla’s port could identify and approach opportunities for improvement.},
