The governments of developing countries, as we discuss in this article, has an important part of the responsibility for the abandonment of millions of patients who die before getting access to a treatment. To demonstrate this, we will refer to three scenarios in which public policies does not help to solve the problem: the lack of regulation and oversight; the permissiveness with pseudo-scientific practices; and the state’s abandonment in remote regions. Throughout the text, and as a conclusion, we will make a claim on governments to direct their actions towards solving the issues at hand.}, keywords = {control}, keywords = {derecho}, keywords = {industria farmacéutica}, keywords = {Acceso a medicamentos}, keywords = {países en vías de desarrollo}, keywords = {políticas públicas}, title = {A New Dimension on Access to Medicines Policy: Between the Lack of Regulation, the Permissiveness and the State’s Abandonment}, title = {Redimensión de las políticas públicas frente al acceso a medicamentos: entre la ausencia, la permisividad y el abandono estatal}, title = {Redimensionar as políticas públicas frente ao acesso a medicamentos: entre a ausência, a permissividade e o abandono estatal}, publisher = {Universidad del Rosario}, keywords = {acesso e avaliação da atenção de saúde}, keywords = {Ethics}, keywords = {health care quality}, keywords = {access}, keywords = {comercialização de medicamentos}, keywords = {and evaluation}, keywords = {ética}, keywords = {health public policy}, keywords = {políticas públicas de saúde}, keywords = {intellectual property of pharmaceutic products and process}, keywords = {Qualidade}, keywords = {propriedade intelectual de produtos e processos farmacêuticos.}, keywords = {pharmaceutical trade.}, }
