On theonehand, Uribe s administration executed unrivaled military successes consolidating his policy ofDemocratic Security by debilitating the organization structure of the FARC and improving all violence indicators -with remarkable success in the kidnapping drama—. However, in the downside, numerous scandals resulting from questionable behavior of state agents resultedin a very negativeevaluation of the democratic compromise of the government.
