abstract = {This research derives from the undergraduate thesis in Sociology expectations and aspirations of students in eleventh grade of Usme locality in Bogota (two case studies) written by Alexandra Romero (2009).

Romero (2009) found that  98.8% of young people surveyed at two public educational institutions Nuevo San Andres de Los Altos and Santa Martha expressed their desire to pursue an academic career. Based on this finding, this research investigated the framework of opportunities and strategies for access to the University of popular sectors, based on the theory proposed by Pierre Bourdieu.},
