In Colombia, in the studies of this population, none of them mentioned multiorgan dysfunction syndrome. Perhaps because this pathophysiological condition can often be indistinguishable from that which occurs during normal pregnancy. A retrospective review of the medical history was completed from 2012 to 2016. A total of 134 were admitted to ICU (13.7%) of those admitted to the OB / GYN service in 5 years. During approximately 10 days of stay, the main diagnosis was sepsis (35.8%); followed by 26.9% by hypertensive disorders, and 15.7% by hemorrhage. There were 5 deaths (0.37%). Methodology This is a descriptive observational study that has a quantitative approach, since I use biostatistics techniques in order to summarize the different quantitative and qualitative variables. Results: Of the total of 134 patients, sepsis was the main cause of admission to ICU with a total of 48 (35.8%) patients, being the urinary focus the main cause 60%, followed by Pneumonia 16.6% and the remaining 23% other foci (example: acute abdomen, endometritis, septic abortion). Second, hypertensive disorders 26%, followed by bleeding disorders 15.7%. Mortality was 3.7%.}, keywords = {Mortalidad materna}, keywords = {Morbilidad materna}, keywords = {Disfunción multiorgánica}, keywords = {Obstétrica}, keywords = {Unidad de cuidados intensivos}, title = {Características de pacientes en unidad de cuidado intensivo IV nivel, por complicaciones del embarazo, parto o puerperio}, publisher = {Universidad del Rosario}, keywords = {Maternal mortality}, keywords = {Maternal morbidity}, keywords = {Multi-organ dysfunction}, keywords = {Obstetric}, keywords = {Intensive care unit}, }
