The images obtained by X-ray determinate decision-making for orthopedic surgeons. These are analyzed prior a surgical procedure. The preoperative planning is based on radiographs of the hip, to predict the size of prosthetic components used in hip replacement. With the advent of digital x-rays, there is a false perception that the magnification rate is automatically adjusted. The correction of this factor requires a calibration protocol of images, not yet implemented in Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá (FSFB). As a result, the current hip radiographs are magnified. Materials and methods. We selected 73 patients with total hip replacement operated in FSFB. For each patient, the size of the prosthetic head was established on hip radiograph obtained by digital radiography system (PACS, IMPAX) and its size was compared with that of the implanted femoral head. Results. The intraclass correlation cohefficient between the two observers in measuring radiation dimension of the prosthetic components was excellent (0,992) and the average magnification ratio 1.2 (20%). This will be introduced to IMPAX PACS-to adjust the final size of the radiograph. Conclusion. The setting-IMPAX PACS allows radiographs in which more accurately reflects the size of anatomical segments and prosthetic components.}, organization = {Urosario}, keywords = {Planeamiento preoperatorio}, keywords = {Reemplazo de cadera}, keywords = {Radiografía digital}, keywords = {Factor de magnificación}, title = {Caracterización y ajuste del factor de magnificación para radiología digital de cadera}, publisher = {Universidad del Rosario}, keywords = {hip replacement}, keywords = {preoperative planning}, keywords = {digital radiography}, keywords = {magnification factor.}, }
