Abstract
For the first half of 2016, the government awarded 10,141 scholarships for higher education to people with the best results of the Saber 11th test, and who were also affiliated with the Sisben. Throughout the implementation of this project, some problems were made known as delays by the government in subsidy transactions, disbursements that change depending on where each of the fellows come from, and the alleged discrimination to which they have been exposed by their peers due to their economic conditions. In most of the media where the news was presented, these were only linked to the same problem, the alleged mistreatment and inconvenience of the fellows in private institutions, but it was not given significance, nor a coverage of Temporary character to the events. We hope that through this report you can learn about two profiles of the scholars, people with real problems that are the evidence of the significant educational imbalance that exists in the country, but they are also the proof of the desire to get ahead represents one of the most important driving forces to break their barriers.
