Abstract
Food insecurity is not only a problem experienced in the country, but also in the city of Bogota, which has a population density of approximately 8,034,649 inhabitants and an area of 1,636.35 km², making it the largest city in Colombia, hosting citizens from all regions of the country. Consequently, the rates of food insecurity may be very high due to such a high population density. According to the latest Food Security report, based on data from the quality-of-life survey conducted by DANE in 2023, moderate or severe food insecurity decreased from 28.1% to 26.1%. This indicates a significant proportion of people who do not have access to quality and adequate food for their proper physical and mental development. Therefore, it is crucial to implement strategies to support large-scale agriculture in order to reduce these percentages and achieve the Sustainable Development Goal "Zero Hunger." One of the strategies proposed in this document is to expose and analyze urban agriculture as an effective tool for producing healthy, safe, and nutritious food, thereby improving food security in homes in the city of Bogota. It is necessary to start with a proper explanation for all audiences of the term "urban agriculture" and to highlight its benefits not only as a mechanism for food harvesting but also environmental, therapeutic, and even social fabric benefits. This should be followed by justifying urban agriculture as a strategy for producing healthy, safe, and nutritious food in homes in Bogota, allowing households, particularly those with low economic resources, to access food in adequate quantities and quality for the healthy growth of each individual. Recommendations should also be established for strengthening the implementation of the strategy to achieve the targets of Sustainable Development Goal 2: "Zero Hunger." This document proposes dissemination through the creation of a podcast as a tool for social appropriation and public communication, highlighting urban agriculture as an instrument for achieving SDG 2. It is important to clarify that the podcast will not solve the problem of food insecurity, but it can serve as a tool for dissemination and acceptance of the topic among different audiences, thus popularizing such initiatives. Although urban agriculture is discussed in some sectors today, it is still not visible to all sectors as an important tool that provides quality food. Instead, it is often seen as recreational, social fabric, or beautification of both public and private spaces. Therefore, it is essential for the education sector to promote spaces and resources for both visibility and implementation
