De paso : una aproximación al turismo en una región que fue azotada por el conflicto y el dejo estatal

Resumen
Frente a más de medio siglo de conflicto interno y condiciones de pobreza extrema, La Guajira se convierte en uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes de Colombia. Y lo que no se ha dicho aún es cómo sucedió este fenómeno, cuáles son las condiciones actuales de la oferta y lo que falta por hacer para que sea una ruta efectiva de desarrollo. Más allá de la descripción del recorrido y sus lugares de interés, el propósito de este especial es detallar el estado del turismo en un departamento con alto valor cultural y ecológico, no obstante el abandono estatal y la historia de constante violación a los Derechos Humanos. Durante la reportería, se visitó Punta Gallinas, Palomino y el Santuario de los Flamencos - tres lugares emblemáticos del departamento- y se indagó cómo se desarrolla el turismo alternativo allí. El producto final fueron una serie de crónicas, fotografías, infografía y vídeos que visibilizan la importancia del turismo en el fortalecimiento de una región en miras del cambio.
Abstract
Faced with more than half a century of internal conflict and conditions of extreme poverty, La Guajira becomes one of the most important tourist destinations in Colombia. And what has not been said yet is how this phenomenon happened, what are the current conditions of the offer and what remains to be done to make it an effective development route. Beyond the description of the route and its places of interest, the purpose of this special is to detail the state of tourism in a department with high cultural and ecological value, not Despite the state's abandonment and the history of constant violation of Human Rights. During the reporting, Punta Gallinas, Palomino and the Sanctuary of the Flamingos were visited - three emblematic places of the department- and it was investigated how tourism develops alternative there. The final product was a series of chronicles, photographs, infographics and videos that make visible the importance of tourism in the strengthening of a region in view of change.
