Resumen
El siguiente trabajo de grado realizado a partir de la misión empresarial a Panamá en el 2018 tiene como objetivo principal realizar un análisis de competitividad del Puerto de Balboa. Se inicia planteando un contexto de estudio en donde se profundiza en entender el entorno panameño estudiando no sólo a Panamá como país sino también cual es la importancia del sector portuario en Panamá. Para alcanzar el objetivo principal se procede a hacer un análisis del Puerto de Balboa. Para este se toma en consideración la infraestructura del puerto, elementos claves en la logística interna y funcionamiento del mismo. Por último, como instrumento de medición, se escogen indicadores considerados relevantes y fundamentales para medir la productividad y competitividad del puerto, comparándolo con otros puertos importantes en el mundo. Finalmente, se concluye el trabajo y el análisis realizado.
Abstract
The following paper was carried out from the business mission to Panama in 2018. Its main objective is to analyze the competitiveness of the Port of Balboa. It begins by studying the context of the environment in Panama in which not only the main information of the country is taken into consideration but also the of the ports economy in Panama. To achieve the main objective, an analysis of the Port of Balboa is made. For this, the infrastructure of the port, key elements of its internal logistics and its operation, is taken into consideration. As a measuring instrument, indicators considered relevant and fundamental are chosen to measure the productivity and competitiveness of the port, comparing it with other important ports in the world. Finally, the work and the analysis performed are concluded.
