Resumen
Esta investigación reconstruye la memoria tejida alrededor de uno de los primeros teatros multimodal (teatro y radio cine) Art Déco del país, el Teatro CINE San Jorge, ubicado en la localidad catorce de “Los Mártires” de la ciudad de Bogotá, durante el periodo comprendido entre 1938-1999. Una historia que inicia a finales del siglo XIX y va hasta las postrimerías del siglo XX. Quien ha estado en el centro de la ciudad de Bogotá, se habrá preguntado qué ocurre en aquellas calles por las cuales no se suele transitar y que guardan en sus fachadas una historia desconocida a punto de desaparecer en medio de las transformaciones urbanas. Este texto da cuenta de ello, habitado por memorias, aquellas que se formaron a través del tiempo: la del barrio, el parque, la familia, aquellas memorias colectivas, pero también, por la crónica e historia del desarrollo y conflictos de una ciudad emergente, en la que su protagonista, un patrimonio del cine, lucha contra el olvido.
Abstract
This research rebuilds the woven memory around one of the first multimodal theaters (theater, radio, cinema) country’s Art Deco, the CINE San Jorge Theater, located in the fourteenth locality of "Los Martires" in Bogotá city, during the period between 1938-1999. A story that begins at the end of the 19th century and goes until the end of the 20th century. Who has been in the center of the city of Bogotá, will have wondered what happens in those streets that do not usually travel and that keep an unknown history on their facades, about to disappear in the middle of urban transformations. This text realizes it, inhabited by memories, those that were shaped over time: that of the neighborhood, the park, the family, those collective memories; but also, for the chronicle and history of the development and conflicts of an emerging city, in which its protagonist, a heritage film theater, fights against forgetfulness.
