Resumen
Nuestro propósito inicial para este número de la RES fue recuperar la trama y urdimbre de las décadas de 1930 y 1940 en la historia colombiana a partir de trabajos de investigación que ofrecieran análisis complementarios de las lecturas políticas y económicas predominantes. A nuestro modo de ver, la historiografía tradicional presentaba este período a partir de la categorización política que lo distinguía como República Liberal. Aun cuando esta historiografía contribuyó resaltando a ciertos actores y dominios de la experiencia, más recientemente se hizo evidente que era necesario enriquecer el repertorio de actores y acciones que dieron forma a la trama de la experiencia durante este período. Los trabajos que hemos reunido en este Dossier contribuyen a seguir avanzando en esta dirección desde distintos marcos disciplinares. 2En el artículo que abre el Dossier, “El valor del análisis cultural para la historiografía de las décadas del treinta y cuarenta en Colombia: estado del arte y nuevas direcciones”, hacemos una cartografía del estado del arte sobre estas dos décadas, atendiendo a los cambios temáticos, teóricos y metodológicos en la literatura existente. Consideramos que, a pesar de que el análisis historiográfico es fundamental en la producción de conocimiento, en la tradición historiográfica colombiana se practica poco. Con el fin de promover el enriquecimiento de lo que conocemos sobre este período, demostramos que el análisis cultural, definido a partir de la cultura como dominio de la experiencia y como herramienta analítica, es de gran utilidad para propiciar nuevas lecturas. Para ilustrar esto, presentamos un recorrido panorámico sobre las distintas temáticas en la producción latinoamericana reciente. El artículo sugiere que estos temas posibilitan además análisis comparativos y transnacionales.
Abstract
Our initial purpose for this issue of the RES was to recover the plot and warp of the 1930s and 1940s in Colombian history from research works that offered complementary analyzes of the prevailing political and economic readings. In our view, traditional historiography presented this period based on the political categorization that distinguished it as the Liberal Republic. Even though this historiography contributed by highlighting certain actors and domains of experience, more recently it became clear that it was necessary to enrich the repertoire of actors and actions that shaped the fabric of the experience during this period. The works that we have gathered in this Dossier contribute to continue advancing in this direction from different disciplinary frameworks. 2In the article that opens the Dossier, 'The value of cultural analysis for the historiography of the 1930s and 1940s in Colombia: state of the art and new directions', we make a mapping of the state of art over these two decades, attending to the thematic, theoretical and methodological changes in the existing literature. We consider that, although historiographic analysis is fundamental in the production of knowledge, in Colombian historiographical tradition it is little practiced. In order to promote the enrichment of what we know about this period, we demonstrate that cultural analysis, defined from culture as the domain of experience and as an analytical tool, is very useful in promoting new readings. To illustrate this, we present a panoramic tour of the different themes in recent Latin American production. The article suggests that these themes also enable comparative and transnational analyzes.
