dc.description | Introducción: En el servicio de oncohematología del Hospital Infantil Los Ángeles de Pasto(HILA) se diagnostican un promedio de 40 casos anuales de cáncer de novo en menores de18 años. La neutropenia febril como evento esperable se presentó en la institución.Objetivo: Identificar las características clínicas y parámetros de laboratorio de los episo-dios de neutropenia febril en el servicio de oncohematología pediátrica del HILA de Pasto,Colombia, durante el a ?no 2013.Métodos: Serie de casos clínicos. Se incluyeron todos los episodios de Neutropenia febril hos-pitalizados en el servicio de Oncohematología pediátrica del Hospital Infantil Los Ángelesde Pasto, Colombia en el 2013.Resultados: 52 episodios de neutropenia febril, en 32 pacientes. La edad promedio fue de7,2 a ?nos, hombres en su mayoría (62%), y la enfermedad de base más frecuente fue Leuce-mia Linfoide Aguda. La mitad de pacientes fueron diagnosticados intrahospitalariamente.El 5% presentó un conteo absoluto de neutrófilos menor a 100 células/mm3, y el rango defiebre más frecuente fue de 38?-38,9?. Los focos infecciosos más comunes fueron respirato-rios y gastrointestinales, y el régimen antibiótico más usado fue Piperacilina/Tazobactam+ Amikacina. La complicación clínica más frecuente fue sepsis, y se presentó un caso demuerte. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The oncohematology service of the Children's Hospital Los Ángeles de Pasto (HILA) diagnoses an average of 40 cases of de novo cancer annually in children under 18 years of age. Febrile neutropenia as an expected event was presented at the institution. Objective: To identify the clinical characteristics and laboratory parameters of episodes of febrile neutropenia in the pediatric oncohematology service of HILA in Pasto, Colombia, during 2013.: Series of clinical cases. All episodes of hospitalized febrile neutropenia in the pediatric oncohematology service of the Los Angeles Children's Hospital in Pasto, Colombia in 2013 were included.Results: 52 episodes of febrile neutropenia in 32 patients. The average age was 7.2 years, mostly men (62%), and the most frequent base disease was Acute Lymphoid Leukemia. Half of patients were diagnosed in-hospital. 5% had an absolute neutrophil count of less than 100 cells / mm3, and the most frequent fever range was 38?-38.9?. The most common infectious foci were respiratory and gastrointestinal, and the most widely used antibiotic regimen was Piperacillin / Tazobactam + Amikacin. The most frequent clinical complication was sepsis, and one case of death was presented. | spa |
