Resumen
El turismo y la cultura dinamizan entornos por medio de la difusión y promoción del patrimonio en eventos culturales. Tal es el caso del Festival Cultural Cerro de San Pedro, en San Luis Potosí, México. El evento inició como un foro de protesta por la enajenación cultural, el despojo de la memoria histórica y la pérdida de identidad y del paisaje cultural a causa de la explotación minera. El objetivo es reflexionar sobre el uso del patrimonio como vehículo de politización y la creación del festival cultural como mecanismo de protesta, al tiempo que puesta en valor del patrimonio. La metodología contempla una revisión de la literatura y la aplicación de encuestas a los asistentes. Los resultados evidencian la pérdida de la significación cultural que dio origen al festival, una oferta turística diversificada y una fuerte utilización del patrimonio que deviene en baja sostenibilidad al ser solo zona de contacto.
Abstract
Tourism and culture are seen not only as industries that generate work, but also as dynamizing environments through the dissemination and promotion of heritage in cultural events. Such is the case of the Cerro de San Pedro Cultural Festival, organized annually by citizens who seek to value the cultural heritage of the place. The objective is to reflect on the use of heritage and therefore of culture as vehicles for politicization in conflicts where the economy prevails over social benefit and the creation of participation mechanisms. The methodology includes a theoretical and historical review of the event and the application of surveys to the participants to the event. The results show that there is a diversified tourist offer with loss of the cultural significance of the participants to the event and low sustainability as it is only a contact area.
