Introduction: Currently, new techniques for the treatment of facial expression lines have become available. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) uses autologous human growth factors for aesthetic and medical purposes. The aim of our study was to analyze the efficacy of PRP in the treatment of the periocular rejuvenation. Materials and methods: This is a descriptive retrospective study of a cohort of 27 patients before and after the application of three sessions of PRP, age ranging from 30 to 70 years, both sexes and without any previous treatment. Photographs using the VISIA ® system, were compared before and after three sessions of PRP to determine changes in the rejuvenation of the periocular area. We conducted a comparative analysis of means using student's t test. Results: Twenty-seven clinical charts were reviewed, 96.3% were women and the average age was 52.67 years. There were satisfactory clinical changes in the management of periocular photo aging with statistically significant improvement between the initial average and post treatment wrinkles, texture and porphyrins (p 0,000). There were no statistically significant differences between the age groups (p = 0.62). Our study shows that treated patients are in better shape than 63.78% of the population of the same sex, age and skin phototype. Adverse events were decreasing their frequency with each following session. Discussion: PRP provides a global improvement in the periocular aging parameters which correlates with the previous in vitro studies. Conclusions: PRP is an excellent therapeutic alternative for periocular aesthetic and medical procedures.eng
