| dc.description | El Índice de Barthel es un instrumento que valora el nivel de independencia del usuario con respecto a la realización de algunas actividades básicas de la vida diaria (AVD) y facilita el seguimiento en el progreso en habilidades de autocuidado y movilidad durante la rehabilitación. Se desarrolló como una medida para evaluar la discapacidad en pacientes con afecciones neuromusculares y musculoesqueléticas que reciben rehabilitación hospitalaria y ha sido recomendado por el Royal College of Physicians para uso rutinario en la evaluación de personas mayores. Es una escala ordinal que comprende diez actividades de la vida diaria y se califica en pasos de cinco puntos para dar una puntuación total máxima de 100. En este documento se incluye la información y conceptos relevantes para la administración del instrumento como las instrucciones al evaluador y pautas de interpretación. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The Barthel Index is an instrument that assesses the user's level of independence with respect to performing some basic activities of daily living (ADL) and facilitates monitoring progress in self-care and mobility skills during rehabilitation. It was developed as a measure to assess disability in patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions receiving inpatient rehabilitation and has been recommended by the Royal College of Physicians for routine use in the assessment of older people. It is an ordinal scale comprising ten activities of daily living and is scored in five-point steps to give a maximum total score of 100. This document includes information and concepts relevant to the administration of the instrument, such as instructions to the evaluator and interpretation guidelines. | |
