| dc.description.abstract | The evaluation of performance in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) is essential for developing occupation-focused approaches and biomechanical analysis related to functional outcomes. However, traditionally this process has depended on subjective observation with standardized scales such as the Barthel Index or the FIM. This interprofessional project seeks to integrate a technological tool based on markerless motion tracking to obtain objective measures of ADL execution in simulated or everyday environments. The kinematic analysis results in metrics that nourish the professional reasoning of occupational therapists and physical therapists. The objective is to develop a markerless technology system to record, analyze, and quantify performance in ADL, supporting evaluation processes. The methodology was developed in four stages: 1) Definition of the technology and development of motion capture software, 2) Selection of daily living activities with high frequency, occupational relevance, and motor variability, 3) Quantification of biomechanical variables through the analysis of activity characteristics, and 4) Correlation with standardized scales of functional independence and validation with professionals. The project is an interdisciplinary collaboration. Videographic recording of ADL and IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) and the development of pose estimation and motion tracking software using Artificial Intelligence models were achieved. This allows movement tracking and the calculation of joint rotations, which provides metrics related to range of motion, time and speed of execution, and fluidity in movement patterns. The results seek correlation with motor and processing skills. | |
