This document seeks to analyze, static and dynamically, the changes in the standard of living index in Colombia between 1997 and 2003. This index is contrasted with the traditional ICV. It is found that the gap between regions remain spite of advances in the rural areas. The alternative index recognizes the importance of the health and the relevance of time spent in mobilization. These variables reduce the importance of physical capital and establish a wider divergence between rural and urban areas and enrich actual discussion about health policies and policies that allow reduce the travel time.

Objective: To compare the impact of ferric carboxymaltose and ferric saccharate on clinical and biochemical outcomes in patients with heart failure and iron deficiency. Methods: We reviewed electronic health records from a referral center in Bogotá for patients with heart failure. We selected records with a follow-up of at least two years. Primary outcomes were clinically significant changes in EQ5D, NYHA functional classification, 6-minute walk test, resolution of iron deficiency, and direct costs. Results: We obtained data on 119 patients with a median age of 69 years and a median left ventricular ejection fraction of 35%. All patients fulfilled established criteria for iron deficiency, and 58% of them were treated with ferric carboxymaltose. A significant difference in GFR of 11 ml/min/1.72 m2 was found at baseline between the groups. Neither bivariate, nor multivariate analyses could identify any significant differences between patients receiving ferric carboxymaltose and ferric saccharate for any of the primary outcomes. Analysis of direct costs shows that carboxymaltose use generates 2.8 times as much cost as saccharate use. Conclusions: This retrospective cohort study did not identify any significant differences in clinical or biochemical outcomes between heart failure patients with iron deficiency receiving ferric carboxymaltose or ferric saccharate. Analysis of direct costs favored the use of ferric saccharate in this group of patients.

The NHL is a malignant cancer that has nationwide low incidence but high costs of care for his handling catalogándose as costly disease The treatment according to treatment phase, histological classification and treatment response to treatment alternatives considered in certain clinical guidelines in this paper we review the chemotherapy (CHOP) and Rituximab + CHOP therapy Objective: To compare the treatment with chemotherapy and Rituximab in cost benefit / utility / effectiveness and impact of both therapies on quality of life and burden of disease from the perspective of the existing regulatory framework and its application in a EPS Results: In the cost-benefit analysis, utility and effectiveness, we found that treatment costs exceed Rituximab chemotherapy, but when comparing the results obtained by DALY and QALY confirmed the results evidenced in literature, which are the variables more sensitive for determining management protocols NHL. Conclusions: Although Rituximab is a good treatment option for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the costs that are caused by this medicine outweigh the compensation received by these users, it is necessary that public policies relate this analysis to match income to expenses and allow the economic balance of the attention, not allowing for business economics issues are taken that can go wrong alternatives less after the health of users.

, Loboguerrero Urrego, Oriana Catalina, Hernández Triana, Eric, Buitrago Medina, Daniel Alejandro

Background: The objective of this study was to describe at 120 months, the impact on a cohort of patients treated for excess weight in an endocrinology institution (ENDOCARE), receiving integrated interdisciplinary treatment (MMI) compared to a control group. Methodology: Retrospective descriptive study of a dynamic cohort of 62 patients in whom clinical and paraclinical metabolic parameters were assessed between 2006-2009. Results: At 120 months, in the integrated interdisciplinary group (MMI), the maximum weight decrease, and the maximum waist decrease were most frequently presented. Additionally, patients in this group had a decrease in the median BMI, there was a decrease in diastolic blood pressure to a greater extent and there was an increase in the levels of HDL high density lipoproteins. Conclusion: The MMI integrated multidisciplinary overweight treatment showed positive results; showing that persistent contact with the patient is important for adherence and long-term success.

Objective: To identify multimodal interventions focused on the perception of quality of life in people over 60 years of age with AD, published in the scientific literature between 2009 and 2022, through a scoping review. Methodology: methodological design of scoping review, proposed by JBI and PRISMA ScR, which allows to identify concepts by conducting a thorough review of the scientific literature. It includes experimental, quasi-experimental and observational studies in English and Spanish that develop multimodal interventions in people over 60 years of age with AD in the perception of quality of life, between January 2009 and December 2022. To which the research team met to identify relevant databases with scientific literature focused on health, selecting PubMed, EBSCO. Next, the terms DeSC and MeSH were determined: Quality of Life, Alzheimer Disease Disease and in the descriptor DeCS: Quality of Life, Alzheimer Disease. The selection of evidence was classified into extraction by means of Zotero® Software and selection by means of Rayyan® software. Finally, the articles were completely read and a critical evaluation of the articles was made by means of the CONSORT and STROBE scales; the articles with more than 40% approval were selected. Results: The articles included for synthesis and review were a total of 17 articles of experimental type (randomized controlled trials RCT). Heterogeneity of the interventions was evidenced, which were grouped into four categories, the most relevant being cognitive rehabilitation, followed by interventions based on education, and finally, interventions based on physical activity and exercise and art therapy. Finally, it was evidenced that the years with the most research in the area were 2017 and 2020. Additionally, these studies are conducted with greater predominance in the European continent, specifically in Portugal, Germany and France. Conclusions: Multimodal interventions in the perception of the quality of life of people with AD demonstrate the importance of integrating the different and diverse aspects that affect the health of people with AD, always taking into ccount the preferences of the person, the stage of the disease and their caregiver.

2001, Gamboa Niño, Luis Fernando, Casas, Andres Fernando

The new index of living conditions is a multivariate standard of living index estimated by qualitative principal components and it includes 15 variables of perception that distinguish it from the ILC estimated for Colombia. These new variables enrich the actual discussion about the relevancy of some social programs, because it has wider dimensions than the commonly used for evaluating the living conditions.

SPSS statistical software was used for analysis and measures of central tendency and dispersion were obtained. To relate the variables Shapiro Wilk test and Spearman correlation coefficient were used. results: The total of the other workers who entered the study ranged in age between 19 and 70 years and a standard deviation of 10. 9 years. Regarding gender, 79. 6% (n = 74) they were women, and 20. 4% (n = 19) were men.
