Resumen
En la búsqueda de equilibrio entre crecimiento económico y bienestar social, las Sociedades BIC surgen como una alternativa, que, al combinar objetivos comerciales y sostenibles, buscan crear valor económico, social y ambiental, superando la visión tradicional de la empresa como foco de ganancias. En Colombia, la Ley 1901/2018 permitió a cualquier empresa adoptar la condición de BIC, lo cual implica cambios significativos en la gobernanza de una organización. Se busca analizar cómo estas sociedades, pueden contribuir a la sostenibilidad económica y social, enfrentando desafíos y oportunidades en su camino hacia el equilibrio entre el crecimiento económico y el bienestar social.
Abstract
In the search for balance between economic growth and social well-being, Collective Interest and Benefit Companies (BIC) emerge as an innovative alternative; by combining commercial and sustainable objectives, they seek to create economic, social and environmental value, surpassing the traditional vision of the company as a simple instrument to generate profits. Law 1901/2018 allowed any company to adopt the status of BIC, generating growing interest in this type of companies, however, the adoption of this condition is not trivial, since it implies significant changes in the governance of an organization. This work seeks to analyze how Collective Benefit and Interest Societies can contribute to economic and social sustainability, and what challenges and opportunities these companies face on their path to achieving balance between economic growth and social well-being.
