| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Increase sports-physical activities has brought health benefits, in physical, psychological and social terms. At the same time, in this practice, the experience of pain is habitual and influences both its continuity and the performance of daily tasks. Efforts to solve this event, have focused on explaining and treating pain from a physiological perspective, leaving aside the importance of contextual, sociocultural, and relational aspects that mediate comprehensive pain care. The aim of this research was analyze, from a gender perspective, the experience in pain management received by women who practice physical activity on regular basis. The analysis of the documentary review, free association of words and interviews carried out with women who have experienced pain due to this practice and to health and sports professionals who have attended such pain, are presented. It concludes, pointing out the importance of analyzing how the experience of pain is encoded and decoded according to the context, beliefs, norms, values and representations that both women and health personnel and sports professionals have of a active woman. Expressions and behaviors associated with pain exalt stereotypical gender expectations, which in turn influence the interpretation and care of pain by observers. | spa |
