| dc.description.abstract | Vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis that predominantly affects the vulva. It has been described across all age groups, but it is most prevalent in postmenopausal women. The exact cause remains unknown, although it is likely due to a combination of factors. Currently, it is considered an autoimmune disease in genetically predisposed individuals. The objective of this study is to review the existing literature regarding the efficacy of CO₂ laser therapy in the treatment of vulvar lichen sclerosus that is refractory to topical corticosteroid therapy. | |
