¡Somos animales! Una exploración sobre la relación de los animales humanos y no humanos en la sociología

Resumen
Esta es una invitación a ver con el corazón y con la razón. Son la invitación del maestro Orlando Fals Borda: pensar con el corazón y con los sentimientos, sentipensar. Ver con el corazón significa ver desde la empatía, el altruismo, la bondad y la responsabilidad que tenemos los seres humanos con las demás formas de vida que habitan la tierra, sean animales u otros humanos. Combinar nuestra parte más humana y nuestros mejores esfuerzos científicos con el fin de comprender mejor nuestras sociedades humanas y sus interacciones con el mundo animal; mundo del cual, no podemos olvidar, somos parte: homo sapiens es otro ser animal.
Las preguntas que guían esta investigación son las siguientes: ¿dónde están los animales en las sociedades humanas? ¿dónde están los animales en la sociología? ¿Qué relevancia tiene para la sociología en Colombia estudiar la relación humano animal? Encontramos que es válido estudiar la relación humano animal en Colombia y el potencial de investigaciones es prometedor. Concluimos que la sociología tiene el deber de desligarse del antropocentrismo y que también debería entablar diálogos con ciencias naturales como la biología y la etología. Encontramos que se hace necesario vernos y sentirnos como partes de la vida, hacernos hermanos y hermanas de la ella. Es la vida que compartimos los humanos sin distinciones de ningún tipo y vida que compartimos con cada ser que vive en este planeta suspendido en un inmenso, misterioso y fascinante cosmos. La sociología está llamada a despertar esa consciencia humana animal.
Abstract
This is an invitation to see with the heart and with reason. They are the invitation of the teacher Orlando Fals Borda: to think with the heart and with the feelings, to feel. To see with the heart means to see from the empathy, the altruism, the kindness and the responsibility that human beings have with the other forms of life that inhabit the earth, be they animals or other humans. To combine our most human part and our best scientific efforts to better understand our human societies and their interactions with the animal world; world of which, we cannot forget, we are part: homo sapiens is another animal being.
The questions that guide this research are the following: where are the animals in human societies? Where are the animals in sociology? What relevance does it have for sociology in Colombia to study the human animal relationship? We found that it is valid to study the human animal relationship in Colombia and the research potential is promising. We conclude that sociology has the duty to separate itself from anthropocentrism and that it should also engage in dialogues with natural sciences such as biology and ethology. We find that it is necessary to see ourselves and feel ourselves as part of life, to become brothers and sisters of her. It is the life that we humans share without distinctions of any kind and life that we share with every being that lives on this planet suspended in an immense, mysterious and fascinating cosmos. Sociology is called to awaken that animal human consciousness.
