| dc.description.abstract | This work is a research proposal to experimentally study the influence of music on the emotional interpretation of ambiguous or multivalent texts. Based on the interaction between context, music, and subject, it investigates how specific musical features—mode (major/minor) and tempo (fast/slow)—modulate emotional valence (pleasure/displeasure) and arousal (high/low activation) during reading. To avoid familiarity bias, original musical pieces will be composed and presented alongside deliberately ambiguous texts. Participants' emotional experience will be assessed using Russell's Affect Grid, which measures two dimensions: pleasure-displeasure and activation-relaxation. It is hypothesized that musical mode influences valence, while tempo affects arousal. The expected findings could have significant applications in therapeutic, educational, and organizational contexts, where music could be intentionally used to regulate emotional states and facilitate cognitive and well-being processes. | |
