Modelo de negocio de transformación digital como apoyo a la toma de decisiones médicas: perfil de un producto de laboratorio clínico especializado

| dc.description | La revolución digital es uno de los cambios globales más poderosos que está redefiniendo los modelos de atención en el sector de la salud a través de la penetración de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC); este proceso conlleva a mejoras en la calidad, accesibilidad y eficiencia económica de la atención médica. El presente estudio de caso aborda la brecha estratégica en la implementación de los Data Manager Systems (DMS) en Werfen, donde, a pesar del potencial tecnológico para el soporte a la decisión médica, se identifican fallas sistémicas que derivan en retrasos operativos y una limitada percepción de valor por parte de los clientes. Mediante una investigación descriptiva fundamentada en herramientas de gestión Lean y un análisis causal de Ishikawa, respaldado por 40 entrevistas semiestructuradas a actores clave, se diagnosticaron causas raíz vinculadas a una gobernanza fragmentada, procesos de implementación no estandarizados y una desalineación entre las áreas comercial y técnica. Como solución, se propone el Value Integrated Model (DMS-VIM), un marco estratégico estructurado en cuatro pilares —estrategia basada en valor, gobernanza end-to-end, un framework de ejecución de siete fases y generación continua de valor— diseñado para transformar la integración tecnológica en un proceso predecible y escalable. La implementación de este modelo se enfoca en la eficiencia operativa y construye el posicionamiento de Werfen como un socio estratégico en la Transformación Digital e salud, con el propósito de asegurar la sostenibilidad del sistema de salud y el retorno de la inversión para los grupos de interés. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The digital revolution represents one of the most powerful global shifts, redefining healthcare delivery models through the pervasive integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This process facilitates significant enhancements in healthcare quality, accessibility, and economic efficiency. This case study addresses the strategic gap in the implementation of Data Manager Systems (DMS) at Werfen, where, despite the technological potential for medical decision support, systemic failures have resulted in operational delays and a diminished perception of value among clients. Through descriptive research grounded in Lean management tools and an Ishikawa causal analysis—supported by 40 semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders—root causes were identified, including fragmented governance, non-standardized implementation processes, and a misalignment between commercial and technical departments. As a solution, this study proposes the Value Integrated Model (DMS-VIM), a strategic framework structured around four critical pillars: value-based strategy, end-to-end governance, a seven-phase execution framework, and continuous value generation. This model is designed to transform technological integration into a predictable and scalable process. The implementation of this framework not only optimizes internal operational efficiency but also redefines Werfen’s positioning as a strategic partner in the digital transformation of clinical laboratories, ensuring system sustainability and return on investment (ROI) for all stakeholders. | |
