dc.descriptionEste trabajo persigue mostrar que en la zona fronteriza del estado de Táchira (Venezuela) y del departamento de Norte de Santander (Colombia) han aparecido manifestaciones de subnacionalismo que pudieran conside­ rarse indicios o bases para construir ideas de autonomía o "regionalismo", a pesar de que el Estado ha mantenido su poder de cohe­ sión y de integración territorial. Se trata de sentimientos compartidos de exclusión de los respectivos centros de poder lo que ha per­ mitido la formación de bloques de poder regional que utilizan la "particularidad" re­ gional o fronteriza para obtener objetivos políticos y económicos difkiles de lograr de no destacar tal diferenciación. Se parte de la apreciación general del papel del Estado como garante de la integridad territorial y poblacional, para ejemplificar con esta región fronteriza los problemas que enfrentan los Estados de la subregión andina para mante­ ner su población y territorio cohesionados e integrados con instrumentos básicamente ideológicos, antes que con instrumentos eco­ nómicos y sociales.spa
dc.description.abstractThis paper attempts to show that in the border  region  of  the  Tachira  State  (Ve­ n ezuela ) with the North of Santander Department (Columbia) it has appeared manifestations of subnationalism that could be considered a base to build ideas of autonomy or "regionalism", even if the State has kept its power of cohesion and territo­ rial integrity. It refers to feelings of exclusion that come from their respective centres of power, that have allowed the formation of blocks of regional power that use the regio­ nal or border "particularity" to obtain political and economic objectives, difficult to achieve otherwise. It assumes the role of the state as a guarantor of the territorial and population intcgrity, with the objective of exemplifying wi th this frontier region the problems that the States of the Andean sub­ region confront to keep their population and territory cohesive and integrated, using basically ideological, rather than economic and social i nstruments.eng
