Abstract
The XCloud for Health project aims the technological modernization of the Mederi Hospital Network, renowned for its excellence in care and consisting of two Level IV hospitals that serve over 20,000 patients monthly. Currently, this network operates on an outdated infrastructure, including 180 virtual machines and more than 40 information systems supported by a private 100 TB data repository. The goal is to design and implement a multicloud strategy to enhance the resilience of the technological infrastructure, minimize disruptions, and ensure the continuity of critical services. Methodology The project utilizes approaches such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Scrum, covering the following phases: 1.Diagnosis and Assessment: Evaluation of the current infrastructure, identification of bottlenecks, and prioritization of critical applications for migration. 2.Design: Development of a hybrid multicloud architecture, combining public and private clouds with high standards of security, compliance, and performance. 3.Migration Planning and Execution: Planning a controlled transition to the multicloud environment, with continuous monitoring to minimize risks in a phased approach. 4.Management: Implementation of advanced tools for real-time monitoring, resource optimization, and cost control. Expected Outcomes 1.Current Infrastructure Dashboard: Comprehensive visualization of critical metrics, such as resource usage, costs, security, and availability. 2.Multicloud Topology: Design of a scalable and flexible infrastructure with redundancy and adaptability to changing demands. 3.Service Level Agreements (SLAs): A document defining the technical, operational, and security requirements for contracting multicloud services. Project Impact •Resilience and Continuity: Reduction of service interruption risks and strengthening of hospital care. •Scalability: Ability to grow in response to higher data volumes and operational demands. •Security: Robust protection of sensitive patient information, complying with healthcare sector regulations. •Cost Optimization: Efficient resource management and reduced dependency on single providers. Despite budgetary challenges in Colombia's healthcare sector, this project represents an innovative solution that ensures technological modernization, strengthens hospital services, and enhances the quality of patient care.
