dc.description.abstractThe massive and ongoing process of human mobility from Venezuela responds to political and economic instability, the unprecedented humanitarian crisis, and the restriction of freedoms imposed by an authoritarian regime. For more than a decade, emigration has become a common survival strategy for Venezuelans. This phenomenon, known under the general term ""Venezuelan Migration,"" has been used by governments, international organizations, media, and academics to refer to cross-border dynamics related to security, economic development, humanitarian aid, and foreign policy. However, the indiscriminate use of this category limits the understanding of the diversity of existing forms of mobility and perpetuates simplified views. Therefore, it is essential to critically examine its definition and scope in order to understand the complexity of the phenomenon and propose more effective alternatives for analysis and political and academic action.eng
