Abstract
This paper presents some considerations about the centroid of a fuzzy set, where the y-coordinate (or vertical centroid) is defined and discussed. An interesting fact about the y-centroid is analyzed using some results for Gaussian, triangular, and non-convex fuzzy sets. Some considerations about the obtained results are provided and some recommendations are given. © 2018, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
