Resumen
Con Fuerza de Volcán es el sueño, y el mejor intento, de contarle a quien no ha vivido nunca un carnaval todo lo que se ha perdido. Es el anhelo de retratar la fiesta, pero también a todas las manos, lágrimas, sudor y fuerzas que hacen posible todo este despliegue de arte. Año tras año los saberes de miles de abuelos y abuelas artesanas se convierten en enormes carrozas que conmueven a locales y forasteros. Colectivos de pastusos y pastusas, del pueblo trabajador, deslumbran con sus danzas que solo se hacen realidad gracias al esfuerzo de reunirse por meses a practicar. En la Ciudad Sorpresa, su gente destina su energía vital para no ovidarse nunca de sus raíces, para celebrar la vida, para agradecerle al Taita Urkunina. Entonces, esta muestra audiovisual es una pequeña memoria de todas las cosas que aún quedan en el mundo con alma, que nos recuerdan que estamos vivos porque sentimos, porque creamos y transformamos la materia en obras tan increíbles como es el Carnaval de Negros y Blancos.
Abstract
"With the Force of a Volcano" is the dream, and the best attempt, to tell someone who has never experienced a carnival all that they have missed. It is the desire to portray the celebration, but also all the hands, tears, sweat, and strength that make this great display of art possible. Year after year, the knowledge of thousands of artisan grandparents is transformed into enormous floats that move both locals and visitors. Collectives of hardworking Pastuso men and women dazzle with their dances, which only come to life thanks to the months of effort spent practicing together. In the "Surprise City," its people devote their vital energy to never forget their roots, to celebrate life, to give thanks to Taita Urkunina. Thus, this audiovisual exhibit is a small memory of all the things in the world that still have a soul, reminding us that we are alive because we feel, because we create and transform matter into incredible works, just like the Carnival of Blacks and Whites.
