Estudio de caso Schlumberger
, Rozo Castañeda, Fredy Yamith, Castañeda, Jaime Andrés
This document deals with the applied case of the DMAIC methodology (Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Implementation of improvements and Control) to the rentals department’s process. After analyzing the process flow, which is part of the P2P (procure to pay) area, we found an incorrect follow-up and non-closing of orders that has led to the reworking of accounts payable to suppliers and sometimes to the non-payment of those. Historically, this problem has affected the operation of the company since it generates a loss of credibility from the suppliers, which sometimes leads to the renegotiation of contracts and service holding. This makes P2P to replace the traditional suppliers for new ones that most of the times deliver lower quality, impacting operations and customer’s satisfaction. This work shows how the application of the DMAIC methodology to the rental process leads to an improvement in the number of orders that are successfully paid to suppliers, thus improving the competitive advantages of the company at the supply chain level and strengthening again its reputation before suppliers.

Drones and the international legal order. Technology, strategy, and long chains of action
, Kleinschmidt, Jochen
he main thesis of this article is that the increasing recourse to the use of unmanned aerial systems in asymmetric warfare and the beginning routinization of U.S. drone operations represent part of an evolutionary change in the spatial ordering of global politics. Using a heuristic framework based on actor-network theory, it is argued that practices of panoptic observation and selective airstrikes, being in need of legal justification, contribute to a reterritorialization of asymmetric conflicts. Under a new normative spatial regime, a legal condition of state immaturity is constructed, which establishes a zone of conditional sovereignty subject to transnational aerial policing. At the same time, this process is neither a deterministic result of the new technology nor a deliberate effect of policies to which drones are merely neutral instruments. Rather, military technology and political decisions both form part of a long chain of action which has evolved under the specific circumstances of recent military interventions.

Estrategias de entrada a un oligopolio.
2014, Duarte Duarte, Juan Benjamín, Meneses Castillo, Carlos Humberto, Viana Barcelo, Rafael
Between October, 2004 and August, 2005, a price war between the country’s major cement companies and Cementos Andino (a company that sought to protect its 9% share of the market with pricing strategies, its marketing activity and its geographical position) took place in Colombia. It is not yet clear who initiated this situation that resulted in the sale of Cementos Andino. This article is the result of research regarding this event. It uses valuation, with Montecarlo’s simulation, and the game theory. This paper provides the analysis of three fundamental aspects of this situation: 1) the possible causes of the sale of Cementos Andino, 2) the strategic thought in an oligopoly, and 3) the role of the government in these sectors.

, Marin González, Yeraldin, Vargas Gómez, Emma Lucía, Olis Barreto, Irma María
Faced with the transformations and changes that occur in actual society, organizations, as social constructs, face challenges such as increasing diversity in work teams and their necessary inclusion and creating conditions to incorporate the diversity of human talent into the labor market. Hence, the development of strategies for organizational culture is characterized by flexibility and the ability to adapt to diversity and inclusion that responds to the interests of companies, the environment and people. This research describes the strategic plan of organizational culture oriented towards diversity and inclusion for the company SK Rental SAS; A machinery rental and sales company that has identified the need to attract new talent under the diversity and inclusion approach as a lever for the transformation of the environment, change of mentality management and thus strengthen its employer brand strategy. The case study was established as a research design and the qualitative method was carried out, for which an interview and a survey were applied for data collection. This allowed an analysis of the context, characterization of the organizational culture and a diagnosis of knowledge about D&I in the company. The information obtained allowed us to propose a strategic model of organizational culture oriented to diversity and inclusion for SK Rental, in which not only in Colombia but also from the Head Office, the directors and managers of the company must have in their DNA the commitment to D&I, and thus lead a true cultural transformation.

Main Menú
, Forero Forero, César Felipe, Pulido Castelblanco, Angela Patricia
Main Menu was born because of the need for the lack of consolidated information of a particular gastronomic establishment, today we can find different sources on the internet that give us an approximation of how much a dish can cost, where the restaurant can be located, reviews by consumers, photographs, and some menus of digitized dishes. But you must search in different pages and there are times when you do not find the complete information in its entirety. We are a company that believes that people can make better decisions when they have all the information consolidated in a single source. We seek to enrich the experience of consumers who visit restaurants for the first time, and it is precisely tailored to their tastes and preferences. We learn from people in order to recommend the ideal restaurant so that appointment, meeting, or lunch is the most pleasant. On the other hand, we want to venture into the business of designing digital menus for any restaurant entrepreneur who wants to innovate in new interactive models. We will begin our recruitment of customers and users in the city of Bogotá, Colombia. All people interested in knowing more about the app, will have it available on the app store and play store platforms due to its high flow of people who use them to download all their apps on the cell phone. Our competitive advantage focuses on showing all the features that a user needs to choose the restaurant according to their preferences. Main Menu works with artificial intelligence that detects the tastes of people and relates them to the restaurants that are in the city of Bogotá, chooses the best based on factors such as: distance, price, comfort, style, availability, and occasion. As a company we want to provide the possibility for people to be happy when they choose a restaurant that they do not know and want to have a pleasant time, with their friends, family, partner, alone, with their pets, etc. That is why we want to be the first application used by the citizens of the capital of Colombia to consult all the necessary information to choose the best restaurant.

A note about administration and Cryptography: The case of complexity and administration
, Maldonado C.E.
This text argues in favor of coordinated work between the sciences of complexity and administration, particularly when it involves problems of information and security. Cryptography must therefore be seen as both a field that must be incorporated within the body of studies on administration in general as well as a case study for the durability of organizations. The touchstone is therefore the relationship between complexity and strategy.
