Abstract
In Keeping with theme of this colletion, the argument presented here builds on the work of a major critical theorist – hebert Marcuse in the course of addressing a central twenty- first century environmental politics issu : the role od science in environmental governance, A with many of the chapters in this volume, the distinction between human and non-human nature plays a central role in the argumentation. Specifically, the focus here is on the complex interplay between the domination of human nature humans, and non-human natura in late industrial societies.
