Resumen
El presente proyecto empresarial propone el desarrollo y comercialización de un sistema de monitoreo en línea de la eficiencia energética para hogares en una región de Colombia, específicamente en Barrancabermeja y los municipios del Magdalena Medio como Puerto Wilches, Sabana de Torres, Cimitarra y Puerto Parra. La solución integra un medidor inteligente con conectividad WiFi, transformadores de corriente (CT) de tipo no invasivo y una aplicación móvil gratuita que permite al usuario visualizar, en tiempo real, el comportamiento de su consumo eléctrico residencial.
Abstract
This entrepreneurial project proposes the development and commercialization of an online energy efficiency monitoring system for households in a region of Colombia, specifically in Barrancabermeja and the Magdalena Medio municipalities. The solution integrates a WiFi-enabled smart meter, non-invasive current transformers (CTs), and a free mobile application that allows users to visualize, in real time, the behavior of their residential electricity consumption. The business model is supported by two revenue streams: the outright sale of the full system and the “pay-with-savings” model, in which the customer finances the equipment through monthly installments equivalent to the actual savings reflected in the utility bill. This structure removes the main entry barrier identified in the market study—the up-front cost—and aligns the incentives of both provider and user toward the effective reduction of energy consumption.
