Evaluación pronóstica del receptor hormonal de progesterona en pacientes con cáncer de mama luminal tratadas con quimioterapia neoadyuvante

dc.descriptionIntroducción: el cáncer de mama, es una enfermedad heterogénea, con diferentes grados de agresividad, que dependen de su expresión fenotípica, destacándose el comportamiento de los receptores hormonales y Her2, que contribuyen finalmente a la respuesta al tratamiento y pronóstico de la enfermedad. Métodos: el objetivo principal de este estudio analítico, retrospectivo de cohorte histórica fue evaluar el valor pronostico del receptor progesterona en pacientes diagnosticadas con cáncer de mama luminal manejadas con quimioterapia neoadyuvante. Resultados: en un tiempo de seguimiento de 7,5 años, se estudiaron 178 pacientes, en su mayoría con fenotipo ER+/PR- (79,2%), sin embargo, no se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en estos grupos a excepción del índice de enfermedad residual RDBN en el análisis multivariado para la evaluación pronostica del receptor de progesterona. Conclusión: En pacientes con cáncer de mama subtipo luminal tratadas con quimioterapia neoadyuvante, el estado del receptor de progesterona no se asoció como factor pronóstico de supervivencia.
dc.description.abstractAbstract: breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease, with different degrees of aggressiveness, which depends on its phenotypic expression, highlighting the behavior of hormone receptors and Her2, which will ultimately contribute to the response to treatment and prognosis of the disease. Methods: The main objective of this analytical, retrospective historical cohort study was to evaluate the prognostic value of the progesterone receptor in patients diagnosed with luminal breast cancer managed with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Results: in a follow-up time of 7.5 years, 178 patients were studied, mostly with ER+/PR- phenotype (79.2%), however, no statistically significant differences were observed in these, except for the index of RDBN residual disease in multivariate analysis for progesterone receptor prognostic assessment. Conclusion: In patients with luminal subtype breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, progesterone receptor status was not associated as a prognostic factor for survival.
