| dc.description | El artículo analiza desde una perspectiva crítica las elaboraciones de Krause y Williams, dos autores contemporáneos, acerca de los temas de la seguridad. En primer lugar, explora la tesis central acerca de la necesidad de ampliar el campo de los estudios sobre la materia, por ello incluye ámbitos diferentes al de la seguridad nacional y se amplía hacia concepciones que tomen en cuenta factores económicos, ambientales o de otra índole. Luego, aborda la crítica de los dos autores a la noción neorrealista de la seguridad. Así, después de examinarse las virtudes de los escritos, se plantean objeciones por la utilización un poco indiscriminada que éstos hacen de la expresión estudios críticos, y las relaciones que existen o no con la teoría crítica de las ciencias sociales. Igualmente, por las ausencias en el tratamiento de la seguridad en el llamado tercer mundo, y las eventuales confusiones entre la teoría crítica, la Escuela de Copenhague y el constructivismo. Por último, se aborda el buen análisis que Krause efectúa sobre la seguridad humana, en especial sobre la evolución y naturaleza del concepto, y sus implicaciones para la teoría y la práctica de las políticas exteriores y de la seguridad en el mundo contemporáneo. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | This article analyses, from a critical perspective, the production of two contemporary authors regarding some topics in the field of security as a concept. In the first place, it explores their central thesis about the necessity of enhancing the area of the studies on the subject, including different levels to that of national security, and going wider towards new conceptions that can articulate different sorts of aspects, such as the economical and the environmental ones. Then, it analyses the interpretations that both authors have on the notion of security within the neorealism. And having showed the merits of the texts, the article appoints some objections to the use of the featured expression critical studies and its relation with the Critical Theory in the Social Sciences, and also to the lack of allusions to the treatment of security in the third world, and the eventual confusions between the Critical Theory, the School of Copenhagen and the Constructivism. Finally, it is shown the proper analysis made by Krause regarding the concept of Human Security —particularly about its evolution and its nature—, and its implications on the theory and practice of security in the contemporary world. | eng |
