| dc.description.abstract | Healthcare workers are among the most vulnerable populations and are particularly prone to experiencing psychological problems related to exposure to psychosocial risk factors (PSRFs). Therefore, it is crucial that this population possess high emotional intelligence (EI), which has been shown to be a protective factor against these issues. This emotional education program (EEP) was designed as an analytical experimental study with pre- and post-test measures and process indicators to evaluate the results of implementing an EEP focused on emotional autonomy competency for a healthcare worker population. The EEP was divided into four modules, each consisting of two hours of in-person instruction, in addition to independent activities to be completed at home. The results showed that the percentage of participants who scored equivalent to high self-esteem increased by 11% between the pre- and post-tests, while the percentage of participants who scored equivalent to high resilience increased by 16% between the pre- and post-tests. In conclusion, the EEP impacted and developed emotional autonomy skills, particularly the elements of self-esteem and resilience. | |
