Abstract
This article systematically analyzed how art as therapy influences the strengthening of the emotional skills of children and adolescents living in contexts of violence in Latin America, with the aim of understanding its contribution to building a culture of peace. The review followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and included studies published between 2015 and 2025 that examined artistic practices implemented in vulnerable contexts involving children and adolescents. A total of 44 bibliographic records were selected and organized into categories related to art as therapy, the ethics of care, emotional skills, the culture of peace, and the social fabric. The qualitative analysis showed that artistic practices, approached from pedagogical, community-based, and relational perspectives, contributed to emotional regulation, resilience, and the reconstruction of social bonds, particularly through collective interventions. The study concluded that art as therapy has a positive impact on emotional well-being, social cohesion, mutual care, and peaceful coexistence in conflict and post-conflict settings.
