Resumen
Abstract
This dataset documents non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) implemented at the national and subnational levels to address the COVID-19 pandemic in the Americas. Before the vaccine, NPIs were the primary tool used by governments to mitigate the spread of the virus. The dataset covers 80% of the Latin American population, from the first case in each country to December 2021, and includes daily data from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru. It contains individual and aggregated indices of nine NPIs (school closures, work suspensions, cancellation of public events, transportation suspensions, information campaigns, local and international travel restrictions, shelter-in-place orders, and gathering limitations), in addition to mask mandates as a separate indicator. Data collection was carried out by local teams from multiple sources, ensuring consistent and comparable data across countries.
