| dc.description.abstract | This work analyzes the use of autonomous digital agents with artificial intelligence to support basic Chinese language learning among university students from different semesters. Two agents — one canonical and one non-canonical — were designed and integrated into Unreal Engine using MetaHuman and Convai, in order to evaluate their interaction, pedagogical clarity, and emotional impact. Through interviews, sentiment analysis using Lingmotif, and an HSK-type assessment administered via Kahoot!, a positive perception toward the agents was identified, particularly due to their availability, clarity, and guiding capacity. Students demonstrated an average performance of 61%, showing initial effectiveness in content retention. The results suggest that autonomous digital agents can effectively complement language teaching; however, further research is required to examine their aesthetic, emotional, and cultural impact in comparison with human instructors. | |
