| dc.description.abstract | This article proposes a reflection on the role of dance as a tool for emotional processing and regulation, articulating perspectives from neuroscience, interoception, and bodily experience. From a neurophysiological understanding of emotion as a phenomenon involving body, mind, and action, the importance of interoception as a bridge between feeling and acting is highlighted. Through dance, the body becomes a means to listen to the inner world, express the unverbalized, and transform emotional states. Approaches such as Dance Movement Therapy (DMT), Laban's movement analysis, and Gaga Movement are addressed, as well as recent findings on predictive coding and brain plasticity, which support the therapeutic value of expressive movement. The proposal is complemented by a personal experience presented at the First Encounter of Art and Emotion, where the practice of conscious movement demonstrated that dance allows for a profound emotional reconnection. This work argues that dancing with emotions is not just a metaphor, but a concrete way to inhabit the body, modulate feelings, and heal through movement. | |
