Estudio de caso Schlumberger
, Rozo Castañeda, Fredy Yamith, Castañeda, Jaime Andrés
This document deals with the applied case of the DMAIC methodology (Definition, Measurement, Analysis, Implementation of improvements and Control) to the rentals department’s process. After analyzing the process flow, which is part of the P2P (procure to pay) area, we found an incorrect follow-up and non-closing of orders that has led to the reworking of accounts payable to suppliers and sometimes to the non-payment of those. Historically, this problem has affected the operation of the company since it generates a loss of credibility from the suppliers, which sometimes leads to the renegotiation of contracts and service holding. This makes P2P to replace the traditional suppliers for new ones that most of the times deliver lower quality, impacting operations and customer’s satisfaction. This work shows how the application of the DMAIC methodology to the rental process leads to an improvement in the number of orders that are successfully paid to suppliers, thus improving the competitive advantages of the company at the supply chain level and strengthening again its reputation before suppliers.

2014, Buitrago Herrera, Martha, Gómez Sandoval, Jefferson Yesid, Noguera García, Andrés Felipe, Pulgarín Molina, Sergio Andrés
Entrepreneurship as a field of study has gained a significant role in the academic and government agendas stated at a five- year term as it consolidates economic development and innovation processes in different countries. One example of this is Colombia, in which the impact has been obvious to get regulatory formal frameworks as 1014 of 2006 Law to foment an entrepreneurial culture, as well as institutions for the development of entrepreneurship. However, all efforts to have spaces to stimulate this aspect should go further the design of strategic planning that allows the formation of entrepreneurs based on articulated aims and policies clearly identified. For this reason, in the entrepreneurship department of Universidad del Rosario a study was made which set up the characterization of the entrepreneur profile of students to identify weaknesses and strengths. This study used the methodology based on the characteristics of entrepreneur behavior to make the study involving Business Administration students in each of the three academic programs. Finally, considering the results of this study, this department can design its programs and projects as well as all the policies to develop the necessary qualities to form better entrepreneurs (Pulgarín, S. 2011).
