| dc.description.abstract | This study examines why numerous ventures initiated by teachers in areas such as economics and business fail to materialize or achieve success stories, despite the fact that high levels of entrepreneurial intention are observed from academia. Based on Ajzen's theory of planned behavior, the article was constructed using a mixed methodological design, which integrated a survey to establish the concept of venture from scholars, and another interview with a deeper analysis in which 98 academics were selected, with the purpose of exploring the gap between entrepreneurial intention, academia and action, through the identification of institutional, structural and cultural barriers, and to re-signify both failures and success cases in relation to the topic. The results showed that real challenges have been found; the perceived behavioral control limited by variables such as time, work and academic loads is not generated by the absence of entrepreneurial intention, but by the lack of innovative academic ecosystems that transform knowledge into added value from their role as scholars, and that promote sustainable spin-offs. The contribution of this research lies in highlighting something rarely discussed in classrooms: academia teaches about entrepreneurship but doesn't always practice it. It seeks to make an impact by emphasizing the importance of higher education institutions integrating discourse with practice and transferring real-world information to bring ideas to 11 fruition. | |
