Abstract
This undergraduate thesis analyzes global consumption, market, innovation, and manufacturing trends in the costume jewelry industry, with the aim of building a market intelligence framework to guide FinArt, a Colombian B2B costume jewelry manufacturer, in developing competitive products for the United States and Latin America. Through a methodology combining macro-environment scanning, digital coolhunting, and innovation analysis, supported by sources like Pinterest Predicts, Google Trends, and WGSN. Three end-consumer buyer personas were identified (Generation Z, Millennials, and Generation X), each with distinct motivations and trends, along with a B2B buyer persona for large retailers with specific needs regarding turnover, margin, and compliance. The competitive analysis showed that FinArt faces strong pressure from Asian manufacturers that dominate on price and speed, meaning its competitive advantage must be built on design, proximity and nearshore production. The study also confirms the resurgence of maximalism as the dominant trend and stacking as a purchasing behavior transversal to all three segments. The research concludes that FinArt’s opportunity lies in closing gaps in development speed and international certification, proposing progressive short-, medium-, and long-term actions to consolidate its position as a strategic regional supplier.
